Preparations in Full Swing for the Tulip Show In an exclusive conversation with Greater Kashmir, Javed Masood, the Floriculture Officer and In-Charge of the Tulip Garden, revealed that the planting of tulip bulbs is nearing completion. The garden’s preparation is in full swing, aiming to create a perfect setting for visitors from local, national, and international destinations.

Enhanced Variety and Visitor Expectations Masood highlighted the addition of more tulip varieties this year, enhancing the garden’s already stunning collection. The expectation is high that the upcoming Tulip show will attract more visitors than ever before, breaking past records. “In 2023, the garden welcomed nearly 3.75 million visitors, both from within the country and abroad. We are optimistic that this record will be surpassed in the next Tulip show,” Masood stated.

A Unique Setting for the Tulip Garden The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar is not only the largest of its kind in Asia but also boasts a unique setting. Spanning approximately 30 hectares (74 acres), the garden is nestled in the foothills of the Zabarwan range. Its terraced layout across seven levels offers a spectacular view of the Dal Lake, adding to the allure of the tulip display.

Garden Opening Dependent on Weather Conditions The opening date of the garden for the 2024 Tulip show is contingent on the weather, with plans to open the gates to the public shortly after March 20, depending on the temperature conditions.
